End of May in our Garden

Rhododendron 'Sham's Ruby' in full bloom in our front yard.  It looks spectacular! but is about 2 weeks late with the late spring.

This is to the east of the rhodo.  The stone bird Bruce calls his Pukeko.  Behind it is 'Freddy' the Cutleaf Japanese Maple - Acer palmatum var dissectum 'Crimson Queen'

One of the extra tomatoes we bought at Sunshine Express.  It is either 'Power Pops' or 'Cherry Crunch'.  Both are red cherry tomatoes.  The tag said they were indeterminate but the height was either 9 inches or 24 inches.  I could not see how they were indeterminate.  What I didn't think about was that they will be about 3 FEET WIDE!!  They grow like a carpet.  Well we will see how this plays out this summer.  They are 45 and 49 days so really, really early tomatoes, cannot wait!!
